AGENDA FOR THE OPENING WEEKEND FOR SWAHILI VILLAGE NEWARK

THURSDAY – RIBBON CUTTTING CEREMONY

3:45pm – Guests arrival, passed hors d’eouvres, Photo & video coverage begins

4pm – Mayor arrives, VIP guests arrives, and go to VIP area

4:30pm – Congregate at door, media in position A and B (position A is inside at host stand with a view of the entrance and everyone outside. Position B is from outside and behind the crowd facing the restaurant entrance and signage in their view

4:35pm – Short welcome and introduction of our day’s host Chef Amir. Amir walks up to ribbon and asks Mayor to step up to ribbon with the council members. Mayor steps up to cut ribbon, cuts ribbon at the countdown of 3 (representing the 3 current locations), applause, Mayor walks in, Mayor’s photo lineup, music performance begins as people get seated.

4:45pm – Mayor and VIPs walk to their tables, VIPs walk to their tables, everyone else gets seated on dedicated seats

5:30pm – Dinner service begins with special appetizer and entrée platters arranged with kitchen

5:40pm – Welcome speech by Amir, welcoming the city and attendees, then introducing Emad Shoeb, Emad Shoeb introduces the brand and passes on to Kevin Onyona ________

5:55pm – Mayor Ras Baraka speaks and opens the venue officially for dining and entertainment in Newark _________

6:00pm – Networking, mingling and the later evening begins.

FRIDAY – LUNCH SPECIALS, HAPPY HOUR SPECIALS, LATE NIGHT PARTY WITH LIVE DJ

Happy hour specials

4pm – 8pm – 20% OFF all appetizer items, 20% OFF all cocktails in cocktail menu, featured wine of the day $5 a glass, featured champagne $5 a glass

Late night LIVE DJ – 8pm – 3am

DJ Babu entertains with dance uptempo music, discounted Champagne and Top shelf liquor bottle specials with the purchase of 3+ bottles.

SATURDAY – DAY PARTY, DINNER PARTIES, LATE NIGHT DANCE PARTY

Day Party with live DJ – 2pm – 7pm

Featuring Champagne glass specials $5 per glass, featured wine $5 per glass, dinner parties seated in groups/reservations – 7pm until 10pm; late night dance party hosted by DJ BABU from 10pm lpaying uptempo afrobeats until 3am

SUNDAY – AFRICAN BRUNCH, DINNER & DANCE NIGHT

12p-5p – African brunch serving scrambled eggs, pancakes and the African menu items platter

6pm – 9pm – Dinner parties featuring mid-tempo afrobeats music

9pm – 1am – Late night dinner and dancing with uptempo afrobeats music
